98% of Belarusian exports of dairy products is accounted for Russia

According to the Deputy Chief of the main department of foreign economic activity, the Ministry of agriculture and food of the Republic of Belarus Tamara Usacheva, Belarus delivers dairy products to 30 countries of the world, however, the main export destination are the CIS countries and primarily Russia, reports The DairyNews.
"Today, the market of the Eurasian Union, and especially, the market of the Russian Federation are in the priority. For us it is justified as logistics determines the set of priorities (export policy - editor) in a similar way. Therefore, today the bulk of dairy products is supplied to the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, that is to the countries of the CIS. The share of exports to other countries as a percentage is low in cost, but the range of countries where dairy products are supplied is quite wide. It includes about 30 countries, where butter, powder whey, dairy products are supplied though in small amounts," said Tamara Usacheva to the participants of the conference "Exporters of the future in the global dairy market", which was held in Hanover on November 16 at the exhibition EuroTier.
The share of Russia in export of dairy products of Belarus is 98%.
"We analyze the Russian market, monitor trends. We also respect Russian producers, seeing that a lot of effort is put to increase their own production. Assessing Russia's plans and the available results, taking into account our plans in the short term, we see that we have a real opportunity to continue to supply products to the Russian market. Russian buyers have interest in our products, long-term relationships contribute to it. We put a lot of effort to maintain our position on the Russian market," said Tamara Usacheva, responding to a question from the moderator about whether Belarus is not afraid of decreasing purchases of dairy products from the side of Russia.
At the same time, Tamara Usacheva said that Russia is not the only market for Belarus; the Belarusian enterprises have a real opportunity to increase exports to other countries. Tamara Usacheva also noticed that the markets of the Middle East and Asia are more interesting from the point of view of supply due to the fact that there are not such high rates as in the European Union.
