The import price increased by 2.3% to 42.33 rubles (about 0.51 euro)/kg, compared to December 2020, the indicator is 18.5% higher. A key factor in the growth of import prices was the rise in prices for exchange-traded dairy products. At the BUCE auction, the price of whole milk powder increased by 12%. At the same time, at the Trigona Dairy Trade auction, the prices of butter, cheese, skimmed milk powder and whey powder increased. The price of butter, taking into account the strengthening of the ruble compared to the previous auction, increased by 1.4% to 503.1 rubles (about 6.03 euro)/kg, the price of cheddar increased by 5.3% to 394.9 rubles (about 4.73 euro)/kg, the price of skimmed milk powder increased by 0.5% to 280.6 rubles (about 3.36 euro)/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 0.6% to 98.5 rubles (about 1.18 euro)/kg.
DIA has updated data on the volume of imports of exchange-traded dairy products according to the latest statistics of the Federal Customs Service. The volume of imports of all exchange-traded products, skimmed milk powder, whole milkpowder, cheeses and butter decreased, only the volume of imports of whey powder increased. In calculating the import price, the share of a pair of cheese + whey decreased, the shares of a more expensive pair of skimmed milkpowder + utter and whole milk powder increased. The share of the import price in the calculation of Dairy Index DIA decreased from 28.87% to 26.16% against the background of a decrease in the total volume of imports of exchange-traded products, which became a key factor in the decline of the index.
The import price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter increased by 1.25% to 49.27 rubles (about 0.59 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 2.07% to 37.45 rubles (about 0.45 euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder increased by 10.6% to 37.99 (about 0.45 euro)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the import price index. To calculate the weighted average price, the Agency developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The import price index is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
