According to Clal, in March 2020, imports of dairy products to China in physical terms (in tonnage) increased by 10%, in January-March 2020, import growth was 1.3%, reported in the Dairy Intelligence Agency (DIA) to The DairyNews.
The largest increase in import volumes was observed for butter, an increase of almost 99.7% in tonnage compared to the corresponding period in 2019.
Imports of cheese in January-March 2020 to China increased by 25.8%, while imports of milk powder (skimmed milk powder and whole milk powder) decreased by 6.4%. Cheese exports from the EU to China increased by 46.4% in March 2020.
The EU also managed to increase the supply of drinking packaged milk to China by 0.7% in March 2020, Poland stood out, it increased the supply of this product to China by 42.6% and was in second place in terms of volume after Germany among the EU countries. It is also interesting that pork imports to China in January-March 2020 increased by 177.6%.
