On average, by 15% by 2029. 8% of the global production of milk and dairy products will be sold on foreign markets. Over the next 10 years, demand for skimmed milk powder will grow in Africa, for butter – in Asia, and China will retain its position as the largest importer of whole milk powder. Japan, Russia, Mexico, the Middle East and North Africa will remain as net importers of dairy products.
Trade in powdered dairy products, which account for more than 40% of global production, will also grow. At the same time, China is expected to increase its imports of drinking milk. The UK, Russia, Japan, and Saudi Arabia will retain their positions as top cheese importers.
