AGROSILA plans to invest 2 billion rubles in cheese production
When asked whether investing in the project will not be risky against the background of the economic crisis and the direction of buyers towards the economy segment - cheese products, for example, Svetlana Barsukova drew attention to the statistics. "At the end of 2019, the production of cheeses amounted to 745 thousand tons, cheese products - 212 thousand tons, the difference is almost 3.6 times. According to “Soyuzmoloko”, this figure has increased to 4.4 times in the first six months of 2020. At the same time, the share of imported cheeses is about 34%. The main supplier is the Republic of Belarus, which has recently started to reduce imports due to the opening of other destinations. Such figures suggest that the consumer is still focused on natural dairy products, which allow getting certain vitamins and elements to preserve health. In addition, we have technological progress on our side, which allows us to optimize business processes and make the production of natural cheeses highly productive", believes the General Director of JSC "Agrosila".
According to her, the trend of coming to the market of plant-based dairy products will not have a negative impact. "Yes, there is such a trend now. These are products aimed at a specific category of customers. As a rule, their cost is much higher than dairy products, and milk, as you know, is a product of everyday demand, an inexpensive price category. It is not quite correct to compare cow's milk and vegetable milk", said Svetlana Barsukova.
We remind that for five months of 2020, LLC "Agrosila-Moloko" produced 16 thousand tons of products worth 800 million rubles. On average, the company receives 150 tons of milk, of which 133 types of products are produced. In 2020, it is planned to modify the product line and one of the innovations will be the production of low-lactose milk. Halal direction, which the company has been actively developing since 2018 – in the production of kefir, katyk, ryazhenka and sour cream, is also waiting for expanding the range. This line will soon include milk, a product from the curd group and butter.
