Alexander Subbotin: Milk production in Belarus has increased by more than 13% in five years
‘In 2020, farms of all categories produced more than 7.7 million tons of milk at a growth rate of 105% compared to the previous year. Despite the abnormal heat this year, the positive dynamics of milk production growth remains. For 9 months, the growth rate was provided at the level of 101.1%. The increase in gross milk production in the republic is carried out due to the maximum realisation of the productivity potential of dairy cows while maintaining the number of cows at the level of 1.4 million over the past years. The five-thousandth milestone in the productivity of the dairy herd was overcome in 2018, and in 2020 this figure amounted to 5.3 thousand kg of milk with an increase of 271 kg to the level of 2019,’ the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
Alexander Subbotin also added that for 9 months of this year, the average milk yield per cow exceeded last year's figure by 70 kg and amounted to 4104 kg.:
‘In agricultural organizations, which are a model of technological discipline, the productivity potential of the dairy herd is realized to the maximum. So, at the unitary enterprise Molodovo-Agro of Ivanovo district, this indicator for 9 months amounted to 9217 kg, in the Agricultural production cooperative Larinovka of Orsha district – 9082 kg, in the Agricultural production cooperative named after Denshchikov of Grodno district - 8979 kg. At the end of the year in these organizations, the productivity index of the dairy herd will exceed 12,000 kg of milk. Milk production is one of the most efficient industries in agriculture. The profitability of milk sales for 2020 is provided at the level of 21.2%, for the first half of this year – 22.4%. The share of milk sold in the milk produced for 2020 and for 9 months of this year exceeded 90%.
