Alexey Bogdanov: Belarus competes with Ukrainian milk in the markets of third countries

As Head of the Main Department of foreign economic activity of the Ministry of agriculture and food of Belarus Alexey Bogdanov noted during the Trading session of the X Dairy Olympics, Belarus is making all necessary efforts to combat smuggling. In early 2018, Belarus closed the supply of cheese-like products to its territory. Only in the first quarter of the year there was detained the import of 3.5 thousand tons of cheese-like products, said Alexey Bogdanov, quoted by The DairyNews.
- Now during the period of big milk in Ukraine, the cost of raw materials there is very low and everything is processed into milk powder, - said Alexey Bogdanov. - It is very difficult to compete with such a cheap product and we also do not like it.
According to the representative of the Ministry of agriculture and food of Belarus, Belarus is actively diversifying its supplies to the markets of third countries.
- So far, only entering new markets (for example Saudi Arabia), we give a lower price. But it is only now. Prices are increasing and will continue to grow.
As noted by Alexey Bogdanov, now Belarusian producers in case of closing the Russian market can work quietly and systematically in the markets of third countries, building a different marginality, other areas.
