Manufacturers of ice cream and cheese have introduced almost 19.5 million products with the label since June 1, when it became mandatory for these categories. This was announced on Wednesday by the press service of the Center for Advanced Technology Development (CATD), which is the operator of the labeling system.

‘The system works without failures, all technical issues are promptly resolved. The stable operation of the system is also confirmed by the result that the companies have achieved over the past week. So, during this time, almost 19.5 million goods were put into circulation, 4,064 units were withdrawn from circulation under the receipt,’ quotes the press service Head of the commodity group "Milk" of the CATD Alexey Sidorov.

According to him, at present, almost 100% of cheese producers and 89% of legal entities that produce ice cream have registered in the Honest Mark system, and this figure has increased by 4% over the past nine days. To solve specific issues, the personal managers of the CATD interact with the participants of the turnover.

According to Natalia Kishkina, General Director of Barnaul dairy plant, more than 10 thousand products are labeled on their production per day, as well as the processes of applying codes and working with the system are tested. ‘On average, more than 10 thousand units of goods are labeled at the plant per day. We have formed a stock of labeled products, and after putting them into circulation, the goods will be sent to local retail chains, as well as to a number of regions of Russia,’ Kishkina explained.

Yevgeny Grebnev, General Director of Karat plant, said that during the first week, about 2 million codes were applied and put into circulation at the plant. ‘Our branded products went to 30 customers. In particular, to the retail chains "Dixie", "Tander", "Perekrestok", "Lenta", "Metro", "Billa". At the same time, we continue to select technical solutions that will solve a number of issues in production,’ the press service of the CATD quotes Grebnev as saying.

Since September 1, the second stage of labeling for dairy products with an expiration date of more than 40 days will begin, and since December 1 - for products with an expiration date of less than 40 days. The withdrawal of dairy products with an expiration date of less than 40 days will occur in January 2022, and an expiration date of more than 40 days - in the summer of 2022. Since September 1, 2022, volume and variety accounting will be introduced. For farmers who will sell products directly or through retail, labeling will become mandatory since December 1, 2022. Per-item accounting of dairy products is introduced since December 1, 2023.

‘After the launch of the labeing system, a number of manufacturers and processors experienced technical difficulties with ordering or issuing codes, as with the introduction of any new system, but there were no large-scale failures, and the problems were resolved promptly in cooperation with the operator. We are in constant contact with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the CATD,’ the press service quotes General Director of the National Union of Milk Producers Soyuzmoloko Artem Belov.
