Altai Territory – milk production and consumption leader

The Altai Territory is currently the leading producer and consumer of milk in RF Siberian Federal District – 594.3 kg and 331.1 kg per capita respectively.
The lowest per capita consumption of milk is in Kemerovo Region – 190.5 kg, according to Director of the Ministry’s livestock breeding and cattle raising department Kharon Amerkhanov.
According to the Ministry’s representative, per capita milk production in Russia is 210.2 kg, per capita consumption – 234.6 kg, while recommended dietary allowance of milk is around 320-340 kg per capita. That means that milk self-sufficiency rate in Russia is 82.2%, the speaker concluded.
