Amendments to the rules of milk labeling are being considered - The Ministry of Industry and Trade

The speaker reminded of the Government resolution No. 33 of March 21, 2021, which introduced the rules for granting subsidies from the federal budget.

Government Decree No. 590 of April 14, 2021 was also adopted, according to which equipment for applying identification means is exempt from value-added tax. We are talking only about equipment whose analogues are not produced in the Russian Federation.

‘It is assumed that this support measure will reduce the financial burden on turnover participants and packaging manufacturers,’ said the leader.

The expert also said that amendments to the rules of milk labeling are currently being considered.

‘Business continues to apply to the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a proposal to adjust and detail a number of provisions and labeling rules approved by the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2099 of December 15, 2020,’ the leader said. ‘In this regard, we are returning to the relevant issues for the industry that were not included in the first package of changes. These are issues related to the simultaneous use of identifiers, in terms of clarifying the list of dairy products subject to labeling, regulating contact production processes, features of selling dairy products remotely, as well as a number of other technical adjustments.

According to the speaker, the draft amendments to the rules of mandatory labeling of dairy products are currently undergoing regulatory procedures, sent to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. In the near future, it is expected to adopt a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on the correction of resolution No. 2099.

The representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade also reminded of the third stage of labeling, introduced since December 1, 2021 for products with an expiration date of 40 days or less. According to the speaker, registration in the "Honest mark" system does not mean one hundred percent readiness. It is necessary to work out all the solutions together with the operator in advance in order to approach comfortably December 1.
