Anatoly Losev: The purpose of introducing labeling in the dairy industry is unclear as Mercury system is already fighting against falsification
To be ready for the third stage, Molvest needed to equip 45 production lines. The company has already purchased special equipment for applying Data Matrix barcodes to products - these are conveyors, sensors, vision systems, scanners. In fact, the installation of full-fledged lines is underway, comments Anatoly Losev.
‘However, the most difficult thing is to train more than 300 people (line operators, shift supervisors, shop workers, etc.). Since the end of October, we have already started this process, the training of one specialist took about two weeks. In addition, we hire about 50 employees to work in production and in the office. They will order codes, create and send reports, etc. Part of this work will be an additional burden on existing employees,’ added the General Director of Molvest Group.
According to Anatoly Losev, the introduction of labeling took a lot of financial and human resources. The company had to redo all its strategic development plans and reorient the people who were planned to be involved in new projects to work with labeling.
‘At the same time, the purpose of its introduction in the dairy industry is unclear. There are no falsifications among dairy products on the market, no one fakes dairy brands – it is expensive and inefficient, and the Mercury program of the Ministry of Agriculture is actively fighting against falsification. It tracks the movement of raw materials throughout the chain. And according to the monthly reports of the Ministry of Agriculture, we see that the fight against falsification is underway - some sites are periodically closed,’ Anatoly Losev summed up.
