Annual inflation in Russia decreased to 5.5%

Consumer prices in Russia during the week from 13 to 19 December rose by 0.1%, said Rosstat on Wednesday.
For the previous 13 weeks prices gained 0.1% 11 times, exceptions were the week from 15 to 21 November and from 18 to 24 October, when inflation was 0.2%. Thus, from the beginning of December inflation amounted to 0.3% and since the beginning of the year the price growth reached 5.3%.
Based on Rosstat data, the estimated inflation in annual expression decreased to 5.5% from 5.6% a week ago and 5.8% by the end of November.
The Central Bank predicts inflation at 5.4–5.8% at the end of 2016. The inflation can be closer to the lower value, said earlier the Chairman of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina: "[But] we are still quite conservative."
