Artem Belov: Russia exports 4% of the total volume of dairy products produced
According to him, export sales of domestic dairy products are developing dynamically and have reached about 4% of the volume of its production in the Russian Federation. Artem Belov stressed that the growth rate of dairy production last year was 20%, and in 2021 he also expects quite high results.
‘Russian dairy products are exported to more than 60 countries of the world, although, so far the main volume of it is sold to the countries of the post-Soviet space, where our products are traditionally loved, known and where people are very positive about it,’ the speaker said. ‘Therefore, our task is to expand the geography of supplies and increase their volumes.’
The expert named the priority export regions - the Far East, East Asia, as well as the European direction, including the supply of Russian dairy products to Serbia. Moreover, if the success of Serbian companies in importing dairy products to the Russian Federation is quite obvious, then the success of Russian companies in Serbia is largely a matter of prospects.
‘Serbia supplies a fairly large volume of dairy products to Russia, for about $ 130 million,’ Belov cited the data. ‘In principle, Russian products should also take a worthy place in Serbia.’
As the Head of the Union noted, a number of Russian companies participate in the export business, for example, JSC Firm Agrocomplex named after N.I. Tkachev, which occupies the second place in the Russian Federation in the production of raw milk, the production of which is almost 1 thousand tons per day. EkoNiva, the largest producer of raw milk with production volumes of 3.5 thousand tons per day, is in the first place.
‘The Firm Agrocomplex named after N.I. Tkachev processes all the raw milk received, while EkoNiva does not process very much, so far 10% of the total volume produced, but it has very ambitious plans, which, I hope, will be implemented,’ the expert said.
The head of the Union said that on the eve of this business mission, a meeting with a Serbian company was held in Moscow, at which questions about the possibility of exporting dairy products abroad were discussed. The conversation was attended by Russian companies interested in exporting - the leaders of the domestic milk market PepsiCo, Molvest, the Agricultural Holding Komos Group, which, as the speaker clarified, are really seriously looking at the possibility of exporting both traditional dairy products and cheeses, butter and, possibly, powdered categories.
‘Today, there are large Russian companies here in Belgrade that are ready to negotiate directly, and I hope that this business mission will be successful for them,’ Belov concluded. ‘Soyuzmoloko is ready to become a guide for Serbian companies that are interested in importing high-quality Russian products and investing in our dairy industry. I hope for fruitful work and long-term cooperation. Now we are at the beginning of the road, but there is every chance to go this way together for the convinience of both sides.
