At the beginning of April import of milk powder from foreign countries amounted to 8.2 thousand tons

It has to be noted that Dairy Index RDRC on 3 April 2017, was 25.35 RUB/kg (without VAT, with fat and protein content 3.6% and 3.0% respectively), by 1.2% lower than last week. The decrease of the index is due to the decline in two key indicators - the Index of domestic prices and the Index of import prices.

As noted in the materials of the Ministry of agriculture, average consumer prices on April 3 were: for pasteurized milk – 52.23 RUB/kg (0% for a week, +2.4% since the beginning of 2017); for butter – 509.47 RUB/kg (+0.2% for a week, +5.5% since the beginning of 2017); for cheese – 474.70 RUB/kg (+0.1% for a week, +2.9% since the beginning of 2017).

According to operative data of the Federal Customs service of Russia (excluding trade with the countries of the EEU) during the current year (as of April 2) compared to the same period in 2016, the import of cheese decreased by 43.6% to 3.6 thousand tons. Supplies of butter increased from 4.1 thousand tons in the same period of 2016 to 6.4 million tons in the current year. The supply of milk powder from abroad increased from 4.3 million tons in the same period of 2016 to 8.2 thousand tons in the current year (countries-suppliers: Argentina, Uruguay, Turkey, Iran, and Switzerland).
