Aton Kapital takes interest in Teaching and Experimental Dairy Plant of Vologda State Milk Academy named after N.V. Vereshchagin purchasing

Direct investment fund headed by Aton Kapital plans to create an agricultural holding in the sphere of dairy products production – milk, butter, sour cream, yoghurts, said the company’s General Director Andrey Tikhomirov.
The company has placed a request for the auction for the sale of 100% government owned Teaching and Experimental Dairy Plant of Vologda State Milk Academy named after N.V. Vereshchagin.
The starting price of the plant is set at 1.08 billion rubles. The plant processes around 20% of realized in the region raw milk and produces annually 20 thousand tons of whole milk products (milk, boiled fermented milk, cream, sour-cream, kefir, yogurts, cottage cheese , etc.), around 2 thousand of dry milk products and 2.5 thousand tons of butter.
Shortly before it became known that ordered by Federal Agency for State Property Management the auction to sell the plant was cancelled. However there is still no information about it on the web-site of the auction organizers. The situation is still unclear since the organizers plan to lodge a complaint against Federal Agency for State Property Management because the applicants have already delivered the entrance money for participation in the auction, but the cancellation of the auction is not confirmed yet.
Meanwhile Mr. Tikhomirov plans to increase the volume of processed milk at the plant by two times and to start cooperating with all federal retailers. The brand “Vologodskoye” is well known in Russia and will allow the company to maintain sales. He also said that it is planned to acquire a share in the capital of some dairy farms.
