Ayrat Hayrullin: the Ministry of Agriculture is focused on statistics improvement

Government support of the agricultural sector is not efficient today due to the fact, that the Ministry does not regulate the food market, said the State Duma deputy. Current consumer prices allow to work profitably for the whole chain – producer – processor – retailer, but instead of agricultural producers’ profitability increase the Ministry is focused on statistics improvement, i.e. reporting indicators. False statistics (overestimated volumes of production) lead to market imbalance, purchase prices and producers profitability decrease and impossibility to pay fair salaries to agricultural people, said the official.

For example after grain, milk, beef and sunflower price decrease producers have lost around 170 bln rubles within a year – what matched the level of government support. According to Ayrat Hayrullin, another reason of government support low efficiency is price disparity and debt load of the agricultural sector.
