Barnaulskiy dairy plant: we supply products from Kaliningrad to the Far East

Barnaulskiy dairy plant produces milk with different fat content, kefir, sour cream, cream, fermented baked milk, yogurt, curd, glazed curd cheeses, butter and curd desserts, hard, semi-hard and processed cheese. The whole range is about 200 products.

"We have quite an extensive logistics. We mainly supply our products to stores of the Siberian Federal district, and shipments of cheese are carried out from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, said Alexander Balushkin, General Director of JSC "BDP" to the participants of the Motor Rally "Way to Milk!"

For seven months of the current year production of cheese and cheese products at our divisions increased by 13.9% compared to the same period in 2016 and reached 5 102 tons.

The increase in the production of cheese occurred due to the greater use of production capacity of cheese factories.

Compared to last year, we have positive dynamics of production profitability.

Although the production of cheese was not initially our main activity, the factory was forced to be engaged in cheesemaking by seasonality in milk production and by our production capacity. After reconstruction held in 2006 our opinion on cheese production has changed dramatically, now we see the cheesemaking as a necessity and one of the most important areas. In addition, the modernization of production is going on and our opportunities are expanding.

We produce hard cheeses with high and low temperature of second heating, such as “Sovetskiy”, “Swiss”, “Altaiskiy”, “Gorny”, “Russian”, “Vityaz” and “Dutch”. This is a traditional range of products at our plants, because the foothill zone, where cheese-making enterprises are located is favorable for these types of cheese.

Of course, there are some problems with raw materials. There is a problem of inconsistency of raw milk by the organoleptic and microbiological indicators.

These problems can only be solved together with the producer of raw milk. The specialists of our enterprise periodically leave to work at our own milk collection stations to improve the way of collecting raw milk and, together with the farms producing raw milk they conduct audits to identify and eliminate inconsistencies.

We actively use the instruments of state support, first of all, the pertly subsidization of interest on loans for the purchase of raw milk allocated to the production of cheese and butter. This is very important because the period from purchasing raw materials to receipt of proceeds from the sale of finished cheese is long enough and it is impossible to do without credit resources.

The purchase of equipment with the support of the Leasing Fund of Altai Krai is also a critical and essential form of support. For example, the project on processing of whey in 2016 was fulfilled with the assistance of the loan, the interest rate of which was subsidized by the Regional Leasing Fund.

The state support in the form of partial subsidizing of interest rates on loans was used by our enterprise during the implementation of various investment projects, in particular during the modernization of the workshop, the upgrading of packaging equipment.

There were used such forms of support as compensation of a part of property tax on newly purchased equipment. This support was provided from the regional budget of Altai Krai in 2009 - 2010.
