Because of Brexit, British dairy producers have reduced exports to the EU by 90%. Foreign supplies of cheese decreased by 66%. The British Federation of Food and Beverage Manufacturers (FDF) provide such data, writes The DairyNews with reference to the information from rossaprimavera.ru.
According to experts, in the first quarter of this year, exports of agricultural products from the UK decreased by 47% and amounted to £1.7 billion, and compared to the first quarter of 2020, the decline was 55%.
Overall losses from the decline in exports to the EU amounted to approximately £2 billion, and, according to Head of the international department of the FDF, Dominic Gaudi, this is a disaster for the UK agricultural industry.
