Belarus has no plans to challenge the restrictions of the Rosselkhoznadzor on milk
The Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on milk and certain types of dairy products exported to Russia from Belarus since June 6. The prohibitions are imposed, in particular, on pasteurized, sterilized and ultra-pasteurized milk and cream in bulk, as well as milk and cream powder. The ban includes goods that are supplied in consumer containers with a volume of more than 2.5 liters.
On June 9 the Rosselkhoznadzor announced the signing of the road map with the Department of veterinary and food supervision of the Ministry of agriculture and food of Belarus on the procedure of removing mutual restrictions on dairy products supplies. Since June 11, the Russian Department started the abolition of restrictions on deliveries from some Belarusian enterprises. At present six companies of Belarus have the right to supply to Russia.
"There is an order. If you plan to introduce a restriction, first, it cannot be imposed on the whole product group, it must be introduced in accordance with certain procedural aspects and with notifications. And only in certain areas, but not on the whole product group and on the region. And only in the case of an episodic situation. That is all, there are no other conditions", — said Petrishenko.
According to him, the dialogue between our veterinary department and the Rosselkhoznadzor has not stop for a minute. "There is an instruction at the level of governments, our Ministries of agriculture are actively working, and I think that the so-called misunderstandings associated with excessive restrictions that are imposed on our enterprises will be removed. We are for our Eurasian economic market to have clear and clear conditions and an equal competitive environment for all agricultural producers," the Ambassador said.
Answering a question, whether he sees the grounds to challenge decisions of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the courts, Petrishenko noted that "there are some grounds". "But we believe that we have other mechanisms to resolve the situation in addition to the courts. There is a platform of the Union state, there is the EEC and there is a working group on agriculture. We believe that at this stage in our bilateral relations, we should not seek the assistance of the courts", he stressed.
