Belarus plans to increase food exports by 8.6% to $5.7 billion in 2019
"We plan to increase exports in 2019 to 5.7 billion dollars, which is 8.6% more than in 2018", he said. - We have such ambitious plans, but they are achievable. And, of course, it is important in this segment how we will develop our cooperation with Russia".
He reminded that in 2018 the export of Belarusian agricultural products and food products increased by 5.3% to the level of 2017 and amounted to $5.2 billion. Bogdanov noted that meat and dairy products in Belarusian exports occupy a significant share, almost 60%. According to him, in 2018 Belarus exported 4.22 million tons of dairy products in terms of milk, as well as 370 thousand tons of meat.
"Belarus supplied food products to 95 countries of the world. In general, we managed to increase exports to foreign countries by 66.7% in 2018. The amount was more than half a billion dollars", Bogdanov said.
