A national system of electronic veterinary certification is scheduled to be launched in Belarus till 1 January 2018. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of agriculture and food of Belarus Alexander Subbotin to journalists today.
"We set the deadline on 1 January 2018. We intensively develop our own national system, this is a rather comprehensive process, we need staff, need to transfer everything in electronic trade turnover, also it is necessary to create legislative base," he said. According to him, the Belarusian side is ready to work with the Russian system "Mercury" for some time.
"If we have time to finalize our system, we will determine how and in what form, through which gateway to transfer the information into the electronic system of Russia, - said Subbotin. - If we do not have time to finalize and launch our own system, we, for some time until we run our system, will work in this clone ("Mercury" – note of TASS)".
Subbotin also noted that the system will affect the Belarusian products, which will be supplied to Russia.
The Rosselkhoznadzor has earlier appealed to the Ministry of agriculture and food of Belarus with a request to suspend the issuance of veterinary certificates for export of dairy products to Russia for a number of companies. "In connection with detection of antimicrobial agents of synthetic origin in Belarusian products, the Rosselkhoznadzor requested the Department of veterinary and food supervision of the Ministry of agriculture and food of the Republic of Belarus to suspend the veterinary certification of high risk products (milk, cheese, butter) in the Russian Federation, prior to the completion of verification activities and the provision of investigation materials to the Rosselkhoznadzor for further analyses”, - is stated in the message.
