Belarusian exports of dairy products continued to grow in May

The export of non-condensed milk and cream in May amounted to 16.3 thousand tons, Belstat reports. For five months, it has decreased by 22.1% to 80.7 thousand tons, and in value terms decreased by 15.7% to 67.3 million dollars.

Almost 70 thousand tons of products were sent to the Russian market — this is 86.3% of deliveries.

3.7 thousand tons of non-condensed products were shipped to China, which is 13 times more than last year.

Deliveries of milk powder and condensed milk and cream in May reached 18 thousand tons. In general, in January-May, they increased by 17.7% to 83.99 thousand tons. In value terms, there is an increase of 22.3% to 201.23 million dollars.

The share of the Russian direction was 54.8%. Exports to this country decreased by 7.7% to 45.59 thousand tons, and in value terms — by 4.5% to 105.99 million dollars.

The export of buttermilk, yogurt and kefir in May amounted to 11.7 thousand tons.

36.7% or 38.5 thousand tons more whey was shipped outside the CIS than a year ago. The main buyer of the product was China. Exports to this country increased by 42.6% to 30.35 thousand tons, and in value terms increased by 72.6% to 27.48 million dollars. In addition to China, the major buyers of whey were Vietnam (1,100 tons), Indonesia (575 tons), Lithuania (515 tons), Malaysia (750 tons), Poland (470 tons), Thailand (708 tons), Japan (950 tons), the Philippines (2,075 tons).
