Belorussia plans to increase export of dairy products to 5.85 million tons by 2020

The Republic of Belorussia plans to increase export of dairy products to 5.845 million tons including 188 thousand tons of cheese by 2020. The country’s government has enacted a Br 2.2 quadrillion state program aimed at farm business development in 2016-2020.
According to the document, Br 1.997 quadrillion from the total amount will fall on agricultural enterprises’ own funds, Br 120.6 trillion – on credit resources, Br 30.4 trillion from them – on preferential credits and Br 502.1 billion – on foreign loans.
The government estimates that Belorussian agricultural products’ competitiveness will increase on the international market and the country will increase their export to $6.2 billion by 2020.
Particularly it is planned to increase livestock products output in all categories of enterprises by 18.3% by 2020 compared to 2015. Milk production is expected to grow to 9.2 million tons, cheese with high level of fat content – by 30% vs 2015, butter – by 32%, dry milk – by 56%, whole milk products – by 39%. Export of meat and meat products is estimated to grow to 376 thousand tons, milk and dairy products – to 5.845 million tons, cheese – to 188 thousand tons, butter – to 108 thousand tons, dry milk – to 225 thousand tons, whole milk products – to 1.164 million tons.
