Long-term restrictions in mutual trade with China and supply problems are gradually fading into the past, said the Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation for the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs Boris Titov. Answering the question of the correspondent of The DairyNews, the expert noted that a new stage is coming in trade relations between the countries. This was told about at a press conference on the threshold of China Business Forum 2018, writes The DairyNews.
- There were a lot of problems with China in terms of trade in agricultural products, for many years there were restrictions or even a complete ban on exports and mutual trade on many issues. Gradually these questions are fading into the past, we opened grain markets, we opened the markets of poultry meat, – told Titov.
The speaker called the poultry market one of the potentially large export opportunities. Russia used to buy more than a million tons of poultry meat; today the country is fully self-sufficient.
- The huge investments that have come over the past 10 years in this industry have radically changed the situation; today Russia is one of the largest producers of poultry meat in the world and is ready to export. As a result of negotiations and mutual decisions in the field of strengthening quality checks, almost ten producers have been allowed to export Russian chicken to the Chinese market, – said the Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation for the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs.
The expert expressed his hope that the export of domestic products will expand and will also cover the supply of meat and milk. Despite the fact that both countries dictate strict sanitary control measures to ensure product safety, it is necessary to find mutually acceptable solutions. This may be beneficial for Russia because the Chinese market lacks "clean" products.
On October 2 there was held a press conference on the threshold of the Chine Business Forum 2018 - the largest intergovernmental business forum with China. According to the organizers, more than twenty experts and 7,000 participants from Russia, China and the CIS countries will gather at one site.
