By 2025, the export of Belarusian dairy products will exceed 3.1 billion US dollars - Alexey Bogdanov

According to the speaker, the export of dairy products has grown in all categories, including cheeses, butter, cottage cheese and other dairy products.

‘Belarus ranks the third in the world in terms of butter supplies, despite the fact that the country has reduced its export volumes over the past five years,’ he stressed. ‘I believe that we need to move further in this direction and not trade packaged butter, since it is not trending. Those enterprises that have butter production in their structure are lagging behind in terms of the output of marketable products.

According to the statistics provided by the head, over the "five-year period" in the category of dairy products, Belarus increased exports by 38% - from $ 1.7 billion to $ 2.4 billion. The growth was 38% over five years. It is planned that by 2025 the export of dairy products will exceed 3.1 billion dollars.

Diversification has also grown significantly – twice as much. In 2015, the country supplied dairy products to 29 countries of the world, last year - to 58.

‘In the structure of exports, cheeses and cottage cheese have "grown" by 45%, butter - by 16%,’ said the official. ‘We predict that the share of cheeses and whole milk products will also continue to increase.’

At the same time, as the speaker explained, the production of whole-milk products in the Republic "slightly decreased in natural and price values," which is due to rising prices for fats and raw materials, as a result, producers redirected production in another area.
