Canada will allocate $1 million for the construction of a cooperative milk processing plant in Ukraine

The government of Canada will allocate $1 million within the framework of the project "Development of dairy business in Ukraine" for the construction of a cooperative milk processing plant in Lvov region in 2018.
According to the Lvov regional state administration, the remaining amount ($300 thousand) will be allocated by milk producers, who will supply to the plant from 100 l/day (investment 50 thousand UAH) to 1500 l/day (investment 750 thousand UAH).
"Such investors become shareholders of the plant in the amount twice the amount of their investments", - said in a statement of the RSA.
The project "Development of dairy business in Ukraine" is being implemented in four regions: Lvov, Ivano-Frankovsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Kherson regions and is funded by the government of Canada. The project is aimed at solving the problems faced by small and medium-sized milk producers by creating new and strengthening of existing cooperatives. The total project budget is CAD27,7 million. The implementation period is 2014-2021.
