CATD: 85% of producers are ready for the third stage of labeling of dairy products
‘The third stage is the largest, it involves the largest number of types of products. At the moment, 1,172 dairy producers are already connected to the Honest mark system. These are 88% of legal entities and 72% of individual entrepreneurs registered in VetIS. Information work is being carried out on the rest of the enterprises by regional authorities,’ the press service explained.
Currently, enterprises from 24 regions, including Pskov, Tambov, Novgorod, Sakhalin, Kurgan, Kaliningrad regions, Chutkotka, Chechnya, Adygea and others, have fully joined the Honest mark system.
The mandatory labeling of cheeses and ice cream in Russia began on June 1, 2021. On September 1, the second stage of labeling for dairy products with a shelf life of more than 40 days began. The withdrawal of dairy products with an expiration date of less than 40 days will begin in January 2022, with an expiration date of more than 40 days - in the summer of 2022. Since September 1, 2022, volume and varietal accounting will be introduced. For farmers who will sell products directly or through retail, labeling will become mandatory since December 1, 2022. The per-item accounting of dairy products is introduced since December 1, 2023.
