CATD told about the peculiarities of cheese and HoReCa labeling
According to a representative of the project operator, the Center for the advanced technology development, cheese is one of the products subject to mandatory labeling. In the case of cheeses, it will be necessary to label both whole heads and industrial packaging for further packaging in slicing. This will ensure maximum traceability of the product from the moment of, for example, import to the production site for packaged products and further to the shelf. The same applies to maturing cheese: when the product is ripe, it will be labeled with the Data Matrix code, or it will be packed in a box with such a label.
Dairy products intended for the HoReCa segment are also subject to labeling. The CATD noted that participants in the experiment include organizations that provide food services. The government decree defines the list of such products participating in the experiment. These are products made from pasteurized, UHT, sterilized, ultra-high-temperature-treated milk, and (or) pasteurized, both UHT, sterilized dairy products of ultra-high temperature processing, manufactured and packed in consumer packaging.
