As of June, 1st cow population in agricultural enterprises totaled 3353.6 thousand heads. This is 98.6% against the level of the previous year.
Population of sheep and goats decreased to 5053.8 thousand heads (97.4% against 2015).
During the period from January to May 2016 average milk yield per cow in agricultural enterprises reached 2485 kg. Milk yield per cow increased by 4.9% compared to the level of 2015. In May 2016 average milk yield per cow increased by 3.5% to 534 kg.
Total milk production in Russian agricultural enterprises increased by 2.8% to 6276.6 thousand tons during five months of 2016.
