Customers stop buying cheese due to the lack of income growth - Mikhail Mishchenko
He noted that last year there was a slight increase in consumption, but solely due to the fact that the middle class could not travel abroad and spent money on products inside the country.
‘In addition, the consumption of food also stimulated the development of domestic tourism,’ the expert added.
According to Mikhail Mishchenko, the consumption of cheeses last year could also grow due to the fact that Russians sharply reduced spending on travelling and non-food products, and some of the released money could be spent on buying food.
Earlier, Mikhail Mishchenko noted that milk, as a product, requires support and attention now. This is due to both the excessive regulation of the market, and the need to work with young people, who often do not understand why milk is useful.
