Dairy Index DIA decreased by 0.5% to 26.12 rubles (about 0.39 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week amounted to 25.27 rubles (about 0.37 euros)/kg, which is 4.5% higher than the price in January in 2019. Prices for raw milk increased in Bryansk region. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Arkhangelsk and Altai regions.

The import price index decreased by 1.8% to 28.38 rubles (about 0.42 euros)/kg; compared to middle January 2019 the index fell by 0.9%. The decline of the index was caused by strengthening of the ruble. Last week at the auction of Trigona Dairy Trade, prices for cheese decreased, the price of whey powder rose slightly, the prices of skim milk powder and butter remained at the level of previous trading. The price of butter, taking into account the strengthening of the ruble decreased by 2% to 245 rubles (about 3.61 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar decreased by 3.4% to 221.2 rubles (about 3.26 euros)/kg, the price of skim milk powder decreased by 1.9% to 176.9 rubles (about 2.61 euros)/ kg. The price of whey powder decreased by 1.3% to 50 rubles (about 0.74 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter decreased by 0.44% to 33.9 rubles (about 0.50 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey decreased by 3% to 25.04 rubles (about 0.37 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 22.94 rubles (about 0.34 euros)/kg.
The new value of Dairy Index DIA will be published on January 20, 2020.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
