It is worth reminding that to get access to information about the prices for raw milk in all regions of Russia, users need to be registered on the page of the application Index DIA and enter current data on the price of raw milk on a weekly basis: http://www.dairynews.ru/company/country/russia/index/
The import price index decreased by 1.4% to 32.04 rubles (about 0.39 euros)/kg; compared to early April 2019 the growth of the index was 8%. The key factor of the decline was a decrease in prices for exchange products. At the Trigona Dairy Trade, prices for all key exchange-traded dairy products decreased. The price of butter, taking into account the strengthening of the ruble compared to the previous auction decreased by 10% to 240 rubles (about 2.91 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar decreased by 1.8% to 270.1 rubles (about 3.27 euros)/kg, the price of skimmed milk powder decreased by 16.5% to 154.3 rubles (about 1.87 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder decreased by 4.8% to 54.4 rubles (about 0.66 euros)/kg.
DIA analysts updated data on import volumes, the increase in butter imports led to an increase in the share of a more expensive pair of skim milk powder + butter, which supported the import price even against the background of lower prices for exchange-traded products. In addition, the increase in the share of more expensive Belarusian whole milk powder in imports led to an increase in the price of this product.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter decreased by 4.7% to 34.15 rubles (about 0.41 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey decreased by 1.7% to 29.97 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder increased by 3.6% to 26.13 rubles (about 0.32 euros)/kg.
The new value of Dairy Index DIA will be published on April 13, 2020.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
