Dairy Index DIA has increased by 0.07% to 27.15 rubles (about 0.34 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week decreased by 0.12% to 25.57 rubles (about 0.32 euros)/kg, which is 4.5% higher than the price in May in 2019. Prices for raw milk increased in the Republic of Tatarstan. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Moscow, Samara and Leningrad regions.

The import price index increased by 3.8% to 32.28 rubles (about 0.41 euros)/kg, compared to May 2019, the indicator is higher by 6.5%. The key growth factor was the increase in prices for exchange-traded products. At the auction of Trigona Dairy Trade, prices for skimmed milk powder, butter and whey powder increased, while the price of cheese remained at the level of previous auction. The price of butter, taking into account the strengthening of the ruble, increased by 6.8% to 243.7 rubles (about 3.09 euros)/kg compared to previous auctions, the price of cheddar decreased by 0.2% to 243.7 rubles (about 3.09 euros)/kg, while the price of skimmed milk powder increased by 2.4% to 159.8 rubles (about 2.02 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 3.8% to 61.5 rubles (about 0.78 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter increased by 1.2% to 35.98 rubles (about 0.46 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey decreased by 0.15% to 27.35 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 28.20 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
