Dairy Index DIA has increased by 0.22% to 27.55 rubles (about 0.31 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA, the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week increased by 0.2% to 25.27 rubles (about 0.28 euros)/kg, which is 2.5% higher than the price in early September in 2019. Prices for raw milk increased in Moscow, Yaroslavl and Smolensk regions. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Kursk region.

The import price index increased by 0.24% to 33.87 rubles (about 0.38 euros)/kg, compared to September 2019 the index is higher by 5.75%. The key factor in the growth of the indicator was the increase in prices for exchange-traded products and weakening of the ruble. At the auction of BUCE the average price of butter increased by 0.35%. At the auction of Trigona Dairy Trade, the prices of butter, cheese, and whey powder increased while the price of skimmed milk powder remained at the level of the previous auction. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble compared to the previous auction, increased by 1% to 311.9 rubles (about 3.50 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar increased by 1.7% to 285.2 rubles (about 3.20 euros)/kg, the price of skimmed milk powder increased by 0.16% to 191.6 rubles (about 2.15 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 2.3% to 63.7 rubles (about 0.71 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter compared to last week increased by 0.26% to 35.32 rubles (about 0.40 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 0.25% to 32.60 rubles (about 0.37 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 26.46 rubles (about 0.30 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
