Dairy Index DIA has increased by 0.29% to 27.82 rubles (about 0.31 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA, the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week increased by 0.28% to 25.48 rubles (about 0.28 euros)/kg, which is 2.7% higher than the price in October in 2019. Prices for raw milk increased in Krasnoyarsk, Orenburg and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Belgorod and Rostov regions.

The import price index increased by 0.29% to 34.16 rubles (about 0.38 euros)/kg, compared to October 2019 the index is higher by 4.23%. At the auction of BUCE, the price of butter increased by 0.38%, the price of whole milk powder increased by 2.4%. At the auction of Trigona Dairy Trade, the price of butter increased, prices for other exchange-traded dairy products remained at the level of the previous auction. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble compared to the previous auction, increased by 2.6% to 311.78 rubles (about 3.43 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar increased by 1.1% to 293.4 rubles (about 3.22 euros)/kg, the price of skimmed milk powder increased to 199.45 rubles (about 2.19 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased to 65.6 rubles (about 0.72 euros)/kg.
The 269th auction of GDT (Global Dairy Trade) on October 6, 2020 resulted in the growth. The price index for dairy products increased by 2.2%, as well as the prices for all key dairy products except skimmed milk powder and lactose.
The import price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter increased by 0.45% to 36.05 rubles (about 0.40 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 0.12% to 32.70 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder increased by 2.4% to 27.11 rubles (about 0.30 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
