Dairy Index DIA has increased to 26.36 rubles (about 0.37 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week increased by 0.16% to 24.89 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg, which is 13.8% higher than the price in late October in 2018. Prices for raw milk increased in Kostroma, Samara and Voronezh regions. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Omsk and Altai regions.

The import price index increased by 0.5% compared to last week to 30.68 rubles (about 0.43 euros)/kg, compared to October 2018, the growth of the index was 12%. The growth was due to the weakening of the ruble. Last week at the Dutch stock exchange Trigona Dairy Trade, the prices of skim milk powder and whey powder increased, the price of butter decreased. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble decreased by 1.06% to 252.55 rubles (about 3.57 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar increased by 0.34% to 224.1 rubles (about 3.16 euros)/kg, the price of skim milk powder increased by 2.4% to 174.3 rubles (about 2.46 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 1.8% to 49.8 rubles (about 0.70 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter increased by 0.6% to 35.98 rubles (about 0.51 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 0.3% to 25.49 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 22.94 rubles (about 0.32 euros)/kg.
The new value of Dairy Index DIA will be published on November 4, 2019.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
