Dairy Index DIA has increased to 26.46 rubles (about 0.38 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week increased by 0.16% to 24.99 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg, which is 13.2% higher than the price in November in 2018. Prices for raw milk increased in Ivanovo, Tver and Voronezh regions. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Omsk and Kurgan regions.

The import price index increased by 0.03% compared to last week to 30.77 rubles (about 0.44 euros)/kg, compared to November 2018, the growth of the index was 11.6%. The increase in the index was due to higher prices for exchange-traded dairy products. Last week at the Dutch stock exchange Trigona Dairy Trade, the prices of butter, skim milk powder and whey powder have increased; the price of cheese remained at the level of previous trades. The price of butter, taking into account the strengthening of the ruble increased by 0.5% to 253.97 rubles (about 3.60 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar decreased by 0.9% to 222.23 rubles (about 3.15 euros)/kg, the price of skim milk powder increased by 3.14% to 179.9 rubles (about 2.55 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 2.6% to 51.15 rubles (about 0.73 euros)/kg.
Prices for exchange-traded dairy products at Global Dairy Trade also continue to rise. At the 247th GDT trading on November 5, 2019, the price index for dairy products rose by 3.7%. Prices of all dairy products except cheddar and lactose increased. The price of whole milk powder in the Russian currency increased by 3.3% to 208.4 rubles (about 2.96 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter increased by 0.97% to 36.34 rubles (about 0.52 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey decreased by 0.74% to 25.32 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder increased by 0.04% to 22.95 rubles (about 0.33 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
