Dairy Index RDRC amounted to 23.39 rubles/kg

According to the application Index RDRC weighted average price of milk in Russia amounted to 21.71 rubles / kg, which is 0.23% higher than at the beginning of last week and 7.02% lower than the price at the end of June 2017.

Last week the Index of import price decreased by 0.11% to 27.77 rubles/kg, this is 6.21% lower than at the end of June 2017. A key factor of the decrease of the Index of import price was the decline in prices for skimmed milk powder and butter. At the auction Trigona Dairy Trade the prices for skimmed milk powder and butter continued to decline, while whey powder, on the contrary, has risen in price. The price of butter, taking into account the weak ruble fell by 3.2% to 437.7 rubles/kg, the price of skimmed milk powder decreased by 1.42% to 114.22 rubles/kg. The price of cheese rose by 0.17% to 246.85 rubles/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 4.43% to 54.16 rubles/kg.

Meanwhile, the price index for dairy products GDT continued to decline, the price of whole milk powder at the last auction fell by 1% to $3.2 per kg, while in the Russian currency, taking into account the weak ruble, the price of whole milk powder increased by 2% to 202.45 rubles/kg.

The price of import of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter has decreased by 0.8% to 28.65 rubles/kg (1 kg recalculated on milk). The price of import of cheese + whey pair has increased by 0.26% to 27.41 rubles / kg. The price of whole milk powder has increased by 1.51% to 23.59 rubles/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC

Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
