Dairy Index RDRC decreased to 24.56 (about 0.33 euro) rubles/kg
According to the application Index RDRC, last week the weighted average price of milk in Russia rose by 0.43% to 23.42 rubles (about 0.31 euro)/kg, which is only 4.64% lower than the price of December 2017. Last week, milk prices rose in Altai region, Omsk, Voronezh regions and Perm region.

Last week the import price index fell by 1.7% to 28.33 rubles (about 0.38 euro)/kg, which is 3.77% higher than in December 2017. The decline in import prices was due to a reduction in the price of butter at auction BUCE, the price of butter fell by 2.6% to 335 rubles (about 4.44 euro)/kg. At the auction Trigona Dairy Trade prices have grown for all dairy products except for cheese, the price of which decreased. The price of skim milk powder, taking into account a stronger ruble, increased by 2.65% to 131.94 rubles (about 1.75 euro)/kg, the price of cheese fell by 3.5% to 226.17 rubles (about 3 euro)/kg. The price of butter has increased by 2.18% to 312.88 rubles (about 4.15 euro)/kg. The price of whey powder has increased by 0.34% to 60.31 rubles (about 0.80 euro) /kg.
Taking into account the above, the import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter decreased by 0.61% to 30.91 rubles (about 0.41 euro)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey has decreased by 0.34% to 25.67 rubles (about 0.34 euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 22.87 rubles (about 0.30 euro)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
