Dairy Index RDRC decreased to 25.64 RUB (about 0.34 euros)/kg

According to the application Index RDRC the weighted average price of milk in Russia decreased by 0.3% to 24.53 rubles (about 0.33 euros)/kg, which is 7.45% higher than the price in March 2018. The price of milk in Altai region continued to grow, the price of milk has increased in Tyumen and Yaroslavl regions. At the same time the price of milk in Moscow region, the Republic of Tatarstan and Krasnodar region has decreased.

The import price index decreased by 0.6% to 28.71 rubles (about 0.39 euros)/kg compared to last week; compared to March 2018 the growth was 9.75%. At the auction Trigona Dairy Trade prices for dairy products remained at the level of previous trading, but when converted into rubles the prices fell due to the strengthening of the Russian currency. The price of butter decreased by 0.5% to 298.3 rubles (about 4.00 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar cheese fell to 231.18 rubles (about 3.10 euros)/kg. The price of skim milk powder decreased to 145.42 rubles (about 1.95 euros)/kg, the price of whey powder declined to 61.15 rubles (about 0.82 euros)/kg. At auction BUCE the price of skim milk powder decreased by 1.6% to 135.35 rubles (about 1.82 euros)/kg.

At the auction of Global Dairy Trade prices for dairy products continued to grow, at the 231st trading of GDT of March 5, 2019 the price index for dairy products increased by 3.3%. The price of skim milk powder fell by 4.3%, at the same time whole milk powder increased by 6%.

The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter has decreased by 0.85% to 31.36 rubles (about 0.42 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey fell by 0.5% to 26 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder increased by 2.62% to 23.89 rubles (about 0.32 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC 

Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
