Dairy Index RDRC decreased to 26.01 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg
According to the application Index RDRC the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week decreased by 0.16% to 24.46 rubles (about 0.34 euros)/kg, which is 10% higher than the price in May 2018. Prices for raw milk in the regions are falling, for example, last week the price of milk in Krasnodar, Altai, Omsk and Ulyanovsk regions decreased. In some regions, prices increased, for example, in Tyumen, Perm and Moscow regions.

The import price index decreased by 0.79% to 30.31 rubles (about 0.42 euros)/kg compared to last week; compared to May 2018 the growth was 7.3%. At the auction of Trigona Dairy Trade prices for butter and whey powder fell, the price of skim milk powder and cheese remained at the level of previous trades. At auction of BUCE the price of butter has dropped by 0.44% to 373.4 rubles (about 5.19 euros)/kg. The price of butter taking into consideration the strengthening of the ruble rose by 1.3% to 292.36 rubles (about 4.06 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar cheese increased by 2.7% to 233.88 rubles (about 3.25 euros)/kg, the price of skim milk powder went up by 3.6% to 149.83 rubles (about 2.08 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder has decreased by 2% to 57 rubles (about 0.79 euros)/kg.
The price of imports of a pair of skim milk powder + butter has decreased by 0.6% to 34.9 rubles (about 0.48 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey has decreased by 1.08% to 25.61 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 24.06 rubles (about 0.33 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
