Dairy Index RDRC has decreased to 25.68 rubles (about 0.34 euros)/kg
According to the application Index RDRC the weighted average price of milk in Russia decreased compared to the beginning of last week by 0.93% to 24.58 rubles (about 0.33 euros)/kg, which is 3.9% higher than at the end of February 2018. Prices rose in the Lipetsk, Tyumen and Krasnodar regions. In Altai region, Belgorod, Kaluga regions, milk prices have decreased.

The import price index decreased by 0.53% compared to the previous week to 28.29 rubles (about 0.38 euros)/kg, which is 10.55% higher than at the end of February 2018. At the auction of Trigona Dairy Trade and BUCE prices for dairy products remained at the level of last week. The decline in import prices was due to the strengthening of the ruble. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble declined by 1% to 304.6 rubles (about 4.09 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar cheese fell to 230.3 rubles (about 3.09 euros)/kg. The price of skim milk powder decreased to 144.8 rubles (about 1.94 euros)/kg, the price of whey powder declined to 62.4 rubles (about 0.84 euros)/kg.
At the 230th auction of GDT (Global Dairy Trade) on February 19, 2019, the price index for dairy products increased by 0.9%. The prices for dairy products continued to go up, but growth slowed down. The price of whole milk powder has increased by 0.3%.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter has decreased by 0.16% to 30.89 rubles (about 0.41 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey has decreased by 0.91% to 26 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder has increased by 0.56% to 23.34 rubles (about 0.31 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
