Dairy Index RDRC has increased by 1.18% to 24.85 rubles (about 0.32 euro)/kg
According to the application Index RDRC, last week the weighted average price of milk in Russia increased by 0.6% to 23.56 rubles (about 0.30 euro)/kg, which is only 4.07% lower than the price at the end of December 2017. Last week, milk prices rose in Altai region, Kirov, Yaroslavl and Bryansk regions.

Last week the import price index rose by 0.35% to 28.43 rubles (about 0.36 euro)/kg, which is 15.57% higher than in December 2017. The increase in the import price was due to the increase in the price of butter and the weakening of the ruble. At the auction Trigona Dairy Trade the price of butter increased, the prices of other dairy products remained at the level of the previous auction. The price of skim milk powder, taking into account the weakening of the ruble, rose by 2.05% to 134.64 rubles (about 1.72 euro)/kg, the price of cheese rose to 230.8 rubles (about 2.94 euro)/kg. The price of butter grew by 6.97% to 334.68 rubles (about 4.27 euro)/kg. The price of dry whey increased to 61.55 rubles (about 0.78 euro)/kg.
The Center updated data on the volume of imports of exchange dairy products, the share of whole milk powder and a pair of cheese + whey increased, the share of a more expensive pair of skim milk powder + butter decreased, but with the growth of the total volume of imports of these categories in terms of milk its share in the calculation of the index increased, which also contributed to the growth of the indicator. The share of more expensive Belarusian product decreased in the structure of import of whole milk powder, and therefore the price of import of whole milk powder also fell.
Taking into account the above, the import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter increased by 1.16% to 31.27 rubles (about 0.40 euro)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey rose by 1.56% to 26.07 rubles (about 0.33 euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder fell by 5.6% to 21.59 rubles (about 0.28 euro)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
