Dairy Index RDRC increased by 2% to 24.53 rubles (about 0.33 euro)/kg
According to the application Index RDRC the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week rose by 1.8% to 23.22 rubles (about 0.31 euro)/kg, which is only 4.33% lower than the price at the beginning of December 2017. Last week milk prices rose in Moscow, Kirov and Sverdlovsk regions.

Last week the import price index rose by 2.5% to 28.88 rubles (about 0.38 euro)/kg, which is 4.56% higher than in early December 2017. The increase in the import price was due to the weakening of the ruble at the end of last week and the growth of the price of skim milk powder at the auction BUCE. The price of skim milk powder at the auction of the Belarusian exchange grew by 9.8% to 130 rubles (about 1.72 euro)/kg. At auction Trigona Dairy Trade the price of butter continued to decline, the prices of other dairy products remained at the level of the last auction. The price of skim milk powder, taking into account the decreased exchange rate of the ruble rose by 1.45% to 129 rubles (about 1.71 euro)/kg, the price of whey powder rose to 59.95 rubles (about 0.80 euro)/kg. The price of cheese rose to 235.26 rubles (about 3.12 euro)/kg, the price of butter decreased by 2.17% to 307.35 rubles (about 4.08 euro)/kg.
Taking into account the above, the import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter increased by 3.4% to 31.12 rubles (about 0.41 euro)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 1.41% to 26.57 rubles (about 0.35 euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 22.86 rubles (about 0.30 euro)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
