Dairy Index RDRC rose by 0.7% to 26.05 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg

According to the application Index RDRC the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week increased by 0.37% to 24.56 rubles (about 0.34 euros)/kg, which is 8.3% higher than the price in early May 2018. The price of milk increased in Belgorod, Perm regions and in the Republic of Tatarstan. The price of milk decreased in Voronezh, Kaluga and Kursk regions.

The import price index rose by 1.55% to 30.18 rubles (about 0.41 euros)/kg compared to last week; compared to the beginning of May 2018, the growth was 6.38%. At the auction of Trigon Dairy Trade the price of cheese and whey has increased, the price of butter decreased, the price of skim milk powder remained at the level of previous trades. At the auction of BUCE prices for skim milk powder and butter have increased, skim milk powder rose by 3% to 165.10 rubles (about 2.26 euros)/kg, the price of butter increased by 1.4% to 375 rubles (about 5.13 euros)/kg. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble fell by 2.4% to 288.5 rubles (about 3.95 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar grew by 1.9% to 227.77 rubles (about 3.12 euros)/kg, the price of skim milk powder increased by 0.3% to 144,62 rubles (about 1.98 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder has increased by 2.18% to 58.2 rubles (about 0.80 euros)/kg.

The price of imports of a pair of skim milk powder + butter has increased by 1.42% to 34.96 rubles (about 0.48 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + Whey has increased by 1.77% to 25.30 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg. The price of the whole milk powder remained at the level 23.91 rubles (about 0.33 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
