Dairy Index RDRC rose to 23.05 rubles (about 0.30 Euro)/kg
According to the application Index RDRC the weighted average price of milk in Russia amounted to 21.32 rubles (about 0.28 Euro)/kg, which is 0.09% higher than the price at the beginning of last week and 6.57% lower than the price in August 2017.

The index of import price last week rose by 1.8% to 28.86 rubles (about 0.37 Euro)/kg, which is 4.31% lower than in August 2017. A key factor of the growth of the Index of import price was the growth of prices for dairy products. At the auction Trigona Dairy Trade prices for all key dairy products have increased. The price of butter, taking into account the strengthening of ruble exchange rate by the end of the week, grew by 3.63% to 426 rubles (about 5.51 Euro)/kg, the price of cheese increased by 2% to 258.6 rubles (about 3.34 Euro)/kg. The price of skimmed milk powder grew by 11.12% to 125.5 rubles (about 1.62 Euro)/kg, the price of whey powder increased by 9.61% to 58,94 rubles (about 0.76 Euro)/kg.
Additionally, when calculating the Index of import price regarding the growth of supply the proportion of a more expensive pair of skimmed milk powder + butter has increased, and the proportion of whole milk powder and a pair of cheese + whey has decreased, which also contributed to increasing import prices. At the same time, when calculating the weighted average price of whole milk powder, the share of the more expensive Belarusian product fell to 0.02%, which led to a decrease in the price.
In this regard, the import price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter increased by 1.04% to 29.06 rubles (about 0.38 Euro)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 2.2% to 28.68 rubles (about 0.37 Euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder fell by 3.7% to 22.10 rubles (about 0.29 Euro)/kg.
The new value of Dairy Index RDRC will be published on August 27, 2018.
Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
