Dairy Index RDRC rose to 23.23 rubles (about 0.30 euro)/kg

The import price index last week rose by 0.43% to 28 rubles (about 0.36 euro)/kg, which is 1.34% lower than in October 2017. The increase in the import price is associated with an increase in the price of skim milk powder on European sites with a decrease in the share of cheaper Belarusian skim milk powder in Russian imports, as well as an increase in the price of butter at the auction of BUCE. The Belarusian export price of butter at the auction BUCE increased by 1.7% to 305 rubles (about 3.96 euro)/kg. At the auction Trigona Dairy Trade prices for all dairy products except skim milk powder have decreased, the ruble continued to strengthen. The price of butter at the rate of the ruble declined by 2.3% to 368.84 rubles (about 4.79 euro)/kg, the price of cheese decreased by 2.85% to 235.76 rubles (about 3.06 euro)/kg, the price of whey powder fell by 3.22% to 57 rubles (about 0.74 euro)/kg. The price of skim milk powder went up by 5% to 125.48 rubles (about 1.63 euro)/kg.

At the same time, at the New Zealand GDT (Global Dairy Trade) auction on October 2, 2018, the price index for dairy products fell by 1.9%, the prices for milk fat and milk powder continued to fall.

In general, the share of import prices in the Dairy Index RDRC calculation increased from 22.96% to 23.14% due to a small increase in volumes, which also contributed to the growth of the index. The import price index rose due to the increase in the price of the pair skim milk powder + butter, which has the largest weight in the calculation of the indicator.

The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter has increased by 2.65% to 29.43 rubles (about 0.38 euro)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey has decreased by 2.07% to 26.53 rubles (about 0.34 euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder increased by 3% 22,89 rubles (about 0.30 euro)/kg.
