Dairy Index RDRC rose to 24.60 rubles (about 0.32 euro)/kg
According to the application Index RDRC last week the weighted average price of milk in Russia increased by 0.43% to 23.32 rubles (about 0.31 euro)/ kg, which is only 3.95% lower than the price of December 2017. Last week, milk prices rose in Kirov, Omsk and Moscow region.

Last week the import price index decreased by 0.17% to 28.83 rubles (about 0.38 euro)/kg, which is 5.2% higher than in December 2017. The decline in import prices was due to the strengthening of the ruble at the end of last week. At the auction Trigona Dairy Trade the price of whey powder increased, the prices of other dairy products remained at the level of previous trading. The price of skim milk powder, taking into account a stronger ruble fell by 0.37% to 128.5 rubles (about 1.70 euro)/kg, the price of cheese fell to 234.38 rubles (about 3.10 euro)/kg, the price of butter fell to 306.21 rubles (about 4.04 euro)/kg. The price of whey powder rose by 0.26% to 60.11 rubles (about 0.79 euro)/kg.
After a long period of decline, the price index for dairy products of the GDT (Global Dairy Trade) at 225th auction of December 4, 2018 showed an increase of 2.2%. The prices for all exchange dairy products, except cheddar cheese, have risen. Taking into account the above, the import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter decreased by 0.06% to 31.1 rubles (about 0.41 euro)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey decreased by 0.34 % to 26.48 rubles (about 0.35 euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder increased by 0.04% to 22.87 rubles (about 0.30 euro)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
