Dairy Index RDRC rose to 25.36 rubles (about 0.33 euros)/kg
According to the application Index RDRC the weighted average price of milk in Russia increased by 0.83% to 24.18 rubles (about 0.31 euros)/kg compared to the beginning of last week, which is only 1.5% lower than the price of mid-January 2018. During the week milk prices increased in Arkhangelsk, Rostov, Kursk and other regions.

The index of import prices decreased by 1.4% to 28.65 rubles (about 0.37 euros)/kg, which is 19.6% above the level of middle of January 2018. The decline was due to the strengthening of the ruble and lower prices for butter and skim milk powder at the BUCE auction. The price of butter decreased by 1.5% to 330 rubles (about 4.28 euros)/kg in comparison with the previous auction, the price of skim milk powder decreased by 2.3% to 127 rubles (about 1.65 euros)/kg. On the other hand prices for all dairy products increased at the auction Trigona Dairy Trade, except for the price of skim milk powder, remaining at the level of previous auction. The price of butter, taking into account the strengthening of the ruble fell by 0.6% to 347.45 rubles (about 4.51 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar decreased by 1.2% to 235.5 rubles (about 3.06 euros)/kg. The price of skim milk powder fell by 2.8% to 142.8 rubles (about 1.85 euros)/kg, the price of whey powder increased by 0.8% to 64.85 rubles (about 0.84 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter fell by 1.8% to 31.09 rubles (about 0.40 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey fell by 1% to 26.62 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 22.37 rubles (about 0.29 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index RDRC
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
