Dairy market of Amur region
In 2019, Amur region produced 54.3 thousand tons of milk, 1.12% more than in 2018 and 35.10% more than in 2013. The region is the 61st largest producer of milk in the country, but every year it increases the volume of milk production, consumption and output of dairy products. In 1987, the volume of milk production reached 342.4 thousand tons of milk, so the potential of the region is significant. Milk production on farms in Amur region is growing year by year, in 2019 the volume of production was 12.7 thousand tons, 11.4% higher than in 2018 and 56.8% higher than in 2013. The volume of milk production in agricultural organizations is unstable, in 2018, production decreased by 1.65% to 41.6 thousand tons.
At the same time, the number of cattle and cows in the region is declining, in 2019, the number of cattle reached 33.7 thousand heads, 4.8% lower than in 2018, the number of cows remained at the level of 2018 - 15.3 thousand heads. In 1987, the number of cattle was 465.7 thousand heads and the number of cows - 161.5 thousand heads, at the same time the yield has increased significantly in recent years. In 2019, the average yield in the region was 3,549 kg per cow, 1.12% higher than in 2018 and 67.4% higher than in 1987.
The number of cows per 1 sq km in the region is 0.04, the number of inhabitants per cow is 51.7.
Milk consumption per capita is growing in the region, in 2019 the indicator reached 83.12 kg according to the calculations of the DIA, 2.2% lower than in 2018, but by 41.2% higher than in 2017. The shortage of milk in Amur region in 2019 amounted to 11.5 thousand tons.
Production of dairy products is also growing in the region. For example, the production of drinking milk in 2019 increased to 117.3 thousand tons, 10.23% higher than in 2018 and 60% higher than in 2013.
Butter production in 2019 was 1,143 tons, 2.7% higher than in 2018, but 16.5% lower than in 2013.
